According to Pétursdóttir, most people have found shelter, but they are still struggling. For example, her sister now lives on the fourth floor of a three-room apartment in the city, with her husband, disabled son and a dog. “That’s a whole new reality. The dog really hates it, when he comes upstairs, he immediately lies down in the bathroom.” But whether they will ever go back, that is now the big question for many residents of the fishing village. “More and more people are thinking about this: do we still want to go back?
