Film News: I can finally announce that a new Fear Street film soon in production at Netflix goes. It’s based on my Fear Street book The Prom Queen. Good news!

The main series of Fear Street novels includes a total of 51 works. The novel The Prom Queen * mentioned by RL Stine is the 15th volume of his horror young adult books. In German it has the title Murderous Dance: Death lurks behind the curtain *. With the high school setting including a bloody prom, Netflix has chosen a horror theme that has been popular since Carrie.

In the book based on the filmed Fear Street volume, Lizzy can hardly believe her luck when she and four other candidates are nominated as queen of the school prom. But then someone starts murdering the potential prom queens. To avoid becoming the next victim, Lizzy tries to find out who is behind the gruesome killings.

Will Fear Street 4 reference Netflix’s previous trilogy?

It is not yet known at this point whether Fear Street 4 will be a standalone film or whether it will be tied into the three previous films in some way. The fact that the new horror film, unlike the first trilogy, has a fixed template suggests that it should work on its own. At the same time, Screenrant points out that the first films were set in the fictional town Shadyside played where The Prom Queen is also located.

A return of well-known Fear Street characters, especially from the first part set in the 90s, would be quite possible in Netflix’s revival of the iconic horror series, at least in supporting roles. After the first Fear Street films paid homage to slasher icons (Part 1 was reminiscent of Scream, Part 2 was reminiscent of Friday the 13th), a lot of genre love will certainly flow into the hunt for the beauty queen in the new film.

When will part 4 of Fear Street come to Netflix?

A specific Netflix launch for Fear Street 4 has not yet been confirmed. Of course, a release on Halloween would be ideal. But since filming for the horror film isn’t scheduled to begin until spring, it’s more likely that the sequel will hit the streamer first 2025 reached.
