According to the Foreign Ministry, the young man comes from Svealand and was arrested in the capital Tehran. “The embassy in Tehran is in contact with local authorities and relatives in Sweden,” the ministry writes to Aftonbladet in an email.
Several Swedes have been imprisoned in Iran in recent years, including the EU official Johan Floderuswho has been imprisoned in Iran since April 2022.
