Lund’s students get the chance to meet French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Sweden at the end of January.
Macron is invited to Sweden by the king and begins his visit to Stockholm on January 30 together with his wife Brigitte Macron and a delegation. The next day he travels to Skåne and on the evening of January 31, he takes part in a student evening in the university auditorium in Lund.
“It’s great fun, and timely, that Lund’s students get to meet a world leader,” says Frida Eriksson, chairman of the student evening committee, in a press release.
The president is invited to a conversation about creating a resilient Europe.
“It is particularly relevant now in connection with the upcoming EU elections. Not least in a Europe where skepticism towards the EU is palpable,” says Frida Eriksson.
The evening ends, according to tradition, with students getting to ask questions. Tickets for the event will only be sold to students, it was a prerequisite for Emmanuel Macron to stand, according to the student evening committee.
