Six years ago, Solo: A Star Wars Story was released in cinemas and laid the foundation for a new Star Wars trilogy that deals with the Adventures of the young Han Solo busy. Although Lucasfilm never officially announced multiple sequels to the spinoff, the film’s ending clearly signaled that more was planned.

The story of Solo: A Star Wars Story is set ten years before the events of Star Wars. If we take it seriously, the prologue begins even three years earlier. On the of industrial buildings On the planet Corellia, we get to know the future space cowboy and smuggler at a young age.
Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) and his girlfriend Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke) find themselves at the bottom of the food chain and suffer from the evil Lady Proxima (Helen Hunt). She dream of the stars, but when Corellia escapes they are separated. Only years later do they meet again in the galaxy far, far away.

Furthermore, the finale of the film suggests that Han and Chewie make their way to Tatooine, where none other than Jabba the Hutt is waiting. In Star Wars we learn that the crime boss is still an unfinished business with Han has. Solo 2 could have filled this gap in the Star Wars canon with a Heist.

Although many Star Wars fans have been campaigning for a sequel for years under the hashtag #MakeSolo2Happen, Lucasfilm has yet to undertake such a project no green light given. The characters from Solo: A Star Wars Story are not completely lost. Their stories are now being told in a different form.
The first major solo returnee was Qi’ra, who made a surprise appearance in the comic War of the Bounty Hunters three years ago and has since received two more comic series (Crimson Reign and Hidden Empire). A novel, Crimson Climb, was also published last year that takes a closer look at her career.

Additionally, Lucasfilm announced a Lando series for Disney+ in December 2020, which has since been adapted into a film starring Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. However, the project is not yet very concrete. As we’ve known since the beginning of the year, Lucasfilm is focused on for now four other Star Wars films.
A Rey sequel is planned with Daisy Ridley in the lead role. There is also a film that takes us to the origins of the Jedi and the Force. Jon Favreau brings The Mandalorian & Grogu to the cinema. And Dave Filoni is supposed to direct a crossover film that… Stories of the Mandoverse series merges.

Solo: A Star Wars Story airs tonight, January 14, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben. With advertising, the broadcast lasts until 11 p.m. The repeat follows at 2:00 a.m. Alternatively, you can stream the film on Disney+.
