Released in September 2020, Crusader Kings III has just crossed the threshold of 2 million sales. A very good performance which makes its publisher, Paradox Interactive, euphoric and which shares their joy with us through this good news. It was Alex Oltner, the game director on the game, who decided to speak to the press to explain how these sales are a driving force for the entire development team:
Two million is an extremely important milestone for the Crusader Kings team. This shows the confidence of the community, and we are delighted that our game has been so successful. It’s a good thing for us of course, but also for strategy games in general, in my opinion. We have big ideas for the future of Crusader Kings III, and it’s nice to know that many people will continue to accompany us on this journey.
This good news comes a few days before the release of the console versions of the game, the title being planned for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One, knowing that it will be available day one on the Xbox Game Pass. A great opportunity to introduce the game to a wider audience, less knowledgeable, and who could well fall in love with strategy games with a medieval atmosphere. Paradox Interactive takes the opportunity to specify that the “Royal Court” DLC has also been a popular success, since a million copies have already been sold. This expansion brings new options to manage your kingdom from your own throne room, as well as profound changes for the culture system of the game, but also artifacts to collect. And that’s probably what has more to the connoisseur public.
