(Finance) – Signed by Italian Railway Network and give them Trade union organizations signatory to the mobility/AF collective bargaining agreement and the related company contract FS Italiane Group the new memorandum of agreement for the reorganization of production processes of infrastructure maintenance activities. Through the remodulation of timetables, the staff of maintenance workers will be extended to time slots which will allow preventive maintenance activities to be carried out, optimizing intervention times in the event of faults on the line, also to the benefit of the railway transport service, in particular those affecting the commuter segments.
“The signing of the agreement is the result of a common vision between the Italian Railway Network and the trade unions – states the CEO of RFI Gianpiero Strisciuglio. The intervention times on the infrastructure in the event of anomalies will be optimized and at the same time greater efficiency and timeliness will be guaranteed, which is part of our mission. An agreement that aims to make the increasingly higher maintenance standards, protecting workers, passengers and the environment and which will be just one of the starting points of a path that aims to consolidate and strengthen, with a view to continuous improvement, the culture of safety through various initiatives”.
The reorganization of work will guarantee the maximum timeliness in maintenance interventions throughout the 24-hour period. For persons employed in maintenance activities, this agreement it will also favor greater reconciliation of work and life timesallowing for the optimization of working hours through the reduction of extraordinary performance with a more equitable distribution of work performance.
RFI, consistently with the lines of action identified in the strategic document of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the PNRR, has a key role in the implementation of projects driving the development of the country such as the extension and strengthening of the conventional and high-speed network, technological upgrade interventions with the implementation of the ERTMS system on conventional networks, the enhancement of the role of the stations to promote intermodality, mobility shared and active, the increase in infrastructural resilience to prevent risks linked to the impact of climate change.
