With the decision, Viaplay’s owners – including the major owner Schibsted – have approved an arrangement which means that through a targeted new issue they give away almost all of their influence over the company to the new main owners: French Canal Plus and Czech PPF. Viaplay wants to raise four billion kroner in new capital by issuing new shares. Added to this is a large debt restructuring that creditors opened for at a meeting on Monday.
