A tragedy surely narrowly avoided in Ireland: 14 people were discovered – alive – in the refrigerated trailer of a truck. The vehicle from France arrived at the port of Rosslare, in the south-east of Ireland.

Nine men, three women, and two children, a total of 14 people were found safe and sound.
It was first the British police who were alerted by a distress call made by one of them, while they were still hidden in the truck, itself transported by a ferry, to Ireland. .
When the boat docks at Rosslare port, many ambulances are present. Medical staff fear hypothermia for some in this refrigerated trailer or the risk of dehydration or even asphyxiation.
But they all seem to be in good health.
According to the police, the investigation is ongoing: these are mainly nationals of Kurdish and Vietnamese origin.
Relieved that the incident had not resulted in tragedy, Leo Varadkar, Ireland’s Prime Minister, said their asylum application would be processed as quickly as possible.
