Elias Pettersson is still hot. In the night’s game against the New York Rangers in the NHL ice hockey, the 25-year-old scored four points – two goals and two assists as his Vancouver won 6-3.
Teammate Nils Höglander was also noted for double hits, which means that the two Swedes were involved in all six of the team’s goals.

The home team Rangers otherwise started the best and were able to take the lead when Mika Zibanejad served Vincent Trocheck up to 1-0 in the beginning of the match. After that, however, Vancouver was able to take over and go to the period break with 3–1 after a goal by Höglander and double assists from Pettersson.
“Didn’t have much fluency”
Rangers managed to reduce the lead after barely half of the middle act, but Höglander and Pettersson saw to it with goals each that the visitors had a three-goal lead before the final period. There, Pettersson established the final result in an empty box.
– I haven’t had much fluency with the points lately, so it was nice, says Pettersson about the points harvest to Aftonbladet.
– But right now I’m also playing with Brock Boeser and JT Miller. They make it easy for me.
The win means Vancouver now leads the Pacific Division.
– It is fantastic to see where we are in the table, says Pettersson when the match was over.
The points harvest means that he climbs three positions in the points league up to eighth place with a total of 52 points. William Nylander, who is currently the league’s highest scoring Swede, is in sixth place.
Rickard Rakell and Erik Karlsson were also noted for points in the night’s round. The two scored a goal apiece as their Pittsburgh beat Philadelphia 4–1.
