After the accident aboard the Boeing plane last Friday, the US aviation authority demanded that all aircraft of the current model be inspected.
Now further deviations have been found in connection with inspections, reports Air Current.
“Loose bolts and other aircraft parts have been found on at least five aircraft,” a United Airlines spokesperson told the newspaper.
A loose door plug came loose when the Alaska Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Portland, USA on Friday.
Now the American airline United Airlines has found more deviations on at least five of its planes. This in connection with the fact that they inspected their fleet of Boeing planes, reports the American newspaper Air Current.
“Loose bolts and other aircraft parts have been found on at least five aircraft,” a spokesperson for the airline told the newspaper.
In one case, it was discovered that the bolts that attach the lower hinge were not seated properly and that the washers on the bolts could “spin,” the newspaper writes.
Flights temporarily suspended
It was around 5 p.m., local time, that a Boeing 373 Max 9 aircraft departed from Portland for California in the United States on Friday.
However, before the aircraft had reached maximum altitude, part of the aircraft cabin covering an earlier emergency exit that did not need to be used became detached. This is because the plane had enough emergency exits in terms of the number of passengers.
No one was seriously injured and the plane with the 171 passengers landed without problems in Portland, where it had taken off 20 minutes earlier.
The US Civil Aviation Authority grounded all aircraft of the same model after the accident, and required them to be inspected. Several airlines around the world have now temporarily stopped flights with the current model.
