The 19th season of “L’Amour est dans le pré”, presented by the emblematic Karine Le Marchand, begins this Monday, January 8 on M6, with the broadcast of the first portraits of farmers in search of their soul mate . An anthology of promising candidates, with varied and endearing profiles.
M6’s flagship program, which captivated an average of 4.3 million viewers during its last season, will return to the journeys and sentimental hopes of fifteen farmers this year. We discover two women and thirteen men, aged 26 to 69, from different regions of France such as Burgundy-Franche-Comté, Grand Est, Normandy, Nouvelle Aquitaine, Occitanie and Pays de la Loire. . The portraits, spread over three exceptional evenings until January 22, promise captivating stories and some picturesque profiles.
Among the ADP 2024 candidatesthis season we will find in particular two friends who went in search of love, a salt harvester, a young fan of Michel Sardou and a former notary converted into a luxury chicken breeder.
Funny reconversions and XXL shyness
Gilles known as Gillou, 69 years old, ex-breeder and mixed farmer who has been semi-retired for 4 years in Pays de la Loire, has in fact embarked on the adventure with Renaud, 52 years old, breeder of poultry, cows and sheep in a few kilometers from his home. A first for the show. With his patter, the “Gillou” already offers all of the colorful character usual in the castings of Love is in the Meadow and will not fail to arouse comparisons with his friend, of rare gentleness and discretion.
In this season of Love is in the Meadow, viewers should also notice Brice, a 38-year-old salt worker in New Aquitaine. Before operating a salt marsh, the latter practiced surfing and was a tennis teacher at Club Med! But nothing to do with the indescribable Popeye of Les Bronzés: Brice is very shy and would be perfectly “bad at flirting”. Another frustrated love interest, Cyril also has everything to please, since he is the manager of an estate in the heart of the prestigious Saint-Emilion vineyard. The new season of Love is in the Meadow also promises some sagas of which only the program has the secret: Pascal, a sheep breeder and nicknamed “Bobosse” because he is obsessed with work, will he be able to slow down? and to put these years of alcoholism behind him to start a couple? Valentin, known as “Tintin”, 26 years old, dairy cow breeder in Normandy, will he be able to overcome his shyness to offer his tenderness and humor to someone? Will Christophe, 57, a winegrower and sheep breeder, find the man of his life after having suppressed his homosexuality for years so as not to expose his parents?
A look at a difficult profession
Among the other candidates for the ADP 2024 casting, we can meet Manuela, 50, who left her job as director of a notary school to become a breeder of “ornamental chickens” in Center Val-de -Loire, Damien, farmer and above all a former rugby player with the look of a big teddy bear who loves nothing more than having fun with his friends, Bruno, a tall 1m93 tall guy who has only had three relationships, the longest of which will have lasted 8 months, or Mickaël, dairy cow breeder, but also “dandy” of the Breton countryside. Often atypical profiles but always endearing.
The approach of Love is in the Meadow is to provide a space where these farmers can confide about their lives, their loneliness, their tragedies, such as the death of a spouse, a parent or loved ones, illness and difficult periods specific to the profession. It also allows them to share their hopes and doubts about romance, all while helping them find their other half. The format of the show, true to its concept, invites viewers to actively participate by sending their love letters and declarations to the candidates who have won their hearts.
The show is not limited only to the presentation of new candidates. Like every year, it will also offer “Love seen from the meadow”, a sequence where participants from previous seasons return for an often colorful and moving debriefing. This part will bring together this season familiar faces and adored by the public, like Didier, Francis, Sébastien, Jérôme and Lucile, Mathieu, as well as newcomers from the last season like Christine, Joris and Charles.
Love is in the meadow Season 19 begins like every year with the broadcast of the portraits of the farmers on January 8, 15 and 12, 2024.
