With its new range of televisions, Samsung may have managed to solve one of the main problems with Oled screens: reflections. A great step forward which promises more comfort for watching TV whatever the light conditions.

The Las Vegas show remains an opportunity for the two South Korean electronics giants, LG and Samsung, to compete in the field of image technologies. And Samsung, which has long been reluctant to enter the Oled television market, took advantage of CES to unveil its range of S95D TVs (available in 55, 65 and 77 inches) benefiting from its Oled Glare Free technology. OLED without reflection. Because although the panels offer infinite contrasts and very deep blacks associated with a brightness which continues to increase over the years, they are often penalized by reflectance. All it takes is a well-placed ray of sunlight or a light source placed in front of the screen for part of the image to become difficult to see. Until now, the solution consisted of increasing the brightness of the panel to compensate for the phenomenon at the cost of increased energy consumption and a risk of glare. With its new technology, Samsung combines an anti-reflective surface treatment with high brightness (+20% compared to the previous model) guaranteed without glare. Enough to be able to enjoy a beautiful image, whatever the viewing angle, in any light condition. Samsung also specifies that this treatment has no impact on color distortion.

Samsung had already wowed the gallery with its The Frame televisions which have a stunning anti-reflective treatment allowing the device to be transformed into a real painting to hang on the wall. The new S95D range seems to benefit from this experience. These new models should be available next spring. The South Korean has not yet announced any price range.
