It was at 21.30 on Saturday that the police received an alarm that a dead woman had been found in a hotel in the popular ski resort of Nord-Fron, northwest of Lillehammer in Norway.
There should not have been guests at the hotel when the woman was killed, only employees. According to the police, there were no witnesses to the incident itself, but everyone who was at the hotel will be questioned, writes NRK.
According to the Norwegian police, the woman who was murdered and the suspected man were colleagues who both worked at the hotel.
– It is unknown to the police what kind of relationship the two have. That is something the investigation will try to get an answer to, says prosecutor Hildegunn Tronslien.
There should be between 10 and 20 employees at the hotel. Several interrogations were carried out during the night towards Sunday.
Neither the woman nor the man are Norwegian citizens and have no local connection. According to Norwegian VG they are both citizens of a European country. The woman’s identity has not been determined, according to Norwegian police, but it will be investigated further and an autopsy will be performed.
A large area around the hotel is cordoned off.
