“The already bad security situation in Europe has worsened over the past year as a result of Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Russia’s rapid rearmament needs to be taken very seriously. For nearly 210 years, peace has been a welcome companion for the Swedish people. However, this is not the case today “It has changed and the security situation has deteriorated. As a responsible minister, I have to explain this fact to the Swedish people.”
Stating that the Swedish government is trying to increase its defense capability by creating mental awareness that the country may go to war, Bohlin said that they also took Ukraine’s resistance against Russia as an example.
