Elvira Öberg started eleventh, 41 seconds behind in today’s chase start but skied well and took place after place. Before the last shoot, it looked like the Swede could take a podium place, but she missed two shots.
Since many others also missed, Öberg got another chance for the podium and was third after half the sprint lap. But then the Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold put in the shot and Öberg could not answer.
Öberg admits that she went too hard immediately after the shooting and had no strength left when the Norwegian attacked.
– When Johannes (Lukas) shouted that Ingrid is with me, I thought, this is not going to work. I will barely make it to the finish line, says the Swede to SVT Sport.
It became double French. Julia Simon won ahead of Justine Braisaz-Bouchet.
Anna Magnusson (three bars) finished twelfth, Linn Persson (two bars) 15th and Mona Brorsson (three bars) in sixteenth place. Hanna Öberg (three bars) finished in 20th place.
