During Friday, the measuring station in Åsele showed – 37.2 degrees and was thus the SMHI measuring station in Västerbotten that showed the lowest temperature.
But private individuals have recorded longer temperatures with their own measuring instruments, for example Dante Dahlgren in Västbyn outside Robertsfors.

Local measurements may show different
According to SVT’s meteorologist Nils Holmgren, local temperature measurements should be taken with a pinch of salt.
– Temperatures can also fluctuate a lot, he says.
If a note at a measuring station stands out, it is automatically flagged in SMHI’s system. Then you usually review what neighboring stations have observed.
– I am not prepared to reject measurements that someone has made because it can vary greatly from one place to another, says Nils Holmgren.
