A large number of cars are still stuck along the E22 at Hörby and motorists are being helped by tracked vehicles that have been deployed. According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the road is not expected to be drivable again until 12 on Thursday at the earliest.

The traffic situation in Skåne is still chaotic and there are snow storms over large parts of Skåne.
The long queues on the E22 have eased somewhat after several vehicles were able to turn around and drive back into the other lane after the emergency services cut open the central barrier.
Cut up
– We have cut it open in at least four places in order to free the motorists in this way, says Mikael Svensson, officer on duty at the rescue service to TT.
The defense’s tracked vehicles have been working at high pressure most of the night to be able to free the motorists who are stuck.
– We have nine track cars working now, says Andrea Wahlberg Scott, communicator at the Armed Forces to TT.
She says that the trolleys and staff have helped to deliver food and drinks to people in the cars and helped to shovel cars out. The municipality of Sölvesborg has also come forward with a request for help.
– A trolley has been deployed to help home care in Sölvesborg, says Wahlberg Scott.
She estimates that the trolleys will have to work on into the morning.
Still off
According to the Swedish Transport Administration’s forecasts, it may take until lunchtime on Thursday before the E22 between Hörby and the Nöbbelöv interchange can be reopened.
– It will take well into the morning before it is cleared up and everyone has managed to get free. We evacuate cars all the time and it’s worst in the southbound direction, but it’s starting to ease a little, says also Mikael Svensson at the police.
Been a great job
He says, of the whole work, including the support of the track wagons:

No known injuries have been reported so far, according to SOS Alarm.
Otherwise, the region should be calm, without any major accidents.
– There has only been an accident on the E6 with a lorry that went off, otherwise it has been calm in our region so far tonight, says Tommy Bengtsson, officer on duty at the police in the South region.
