After appearing on the big screen as the giant singing turtle in the Super Mario Bros. movie last year, Jack Black has now landed his next role in an upcoming video game adaptation.
As Bowser, Jack Black sang his way into the hearts of fans with the song Peaches. It has now been announced that the actor and passionate gamer has landed his next big role in the video game cosmos and will appear in the film adaptation of Minecraft.

This is what is known so far about the Minecraft film
As Deadline and Variety announced yesterday, Jack Black will appear as Steve in the new Minecraft film. He thus takes on the role of the standard avatar of the block game.
Who else is there? In addition to him, Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black) and Emma Myers (Wednesday) have already been confirmed as cast members. The film will be directed by Jared Hess, who worked with Jack Black on Nacho Libre (2006).
What will the Minecraft movie be about? No precise information has been given about the plot of the film yet.
When will the Minecraft movie be released? The film is scheduled to be released in German cinemas on April 3, 2025. Filming is likely to begin soon.
