TPS-educated, third-generation hockey player Aatos Koivu, 17, made his debut in the SM league on Wednesday.
TPS presented for the first time in the hockey league Saku Koivun of a boy Aatos Koivunwho appeared as the center of the Turku club’s triple chain Kasper Pikkarainen and Jan Shikeran in the “junnu chain” formed in Mikkeli. Pikkarainen, 17, is the same age as Aatos and he is a former TPS attacker Ilkka Pikkarainen son.
The addition of Koivu didn’t bring much-needed power to TPS, which lost to Jukurei, who are fourth in the series, with a score of 0-4.
