Ebba Andersson’s sad news – breaks Tour de Ski after tough times: “Too risky”

Ebba Andersson breaks the Tour de Ski.
The Swedish cross-country star announced this on Tuesday.
– It was stupid of me to drive all the way, says Andersson to Sportbladet.

Before the Tour de Ski tested Ebba Andersson positive for covid-19, and it was uncertain for a long time whether she would start in the Tour de Ski premiere. With days to go, the news came that Andersson is running.

Drops off

But the 26-year-old had a difficult start to the tour. She failed to progress from the sprint qualifier, and in Monday’s pursuit start she was two minutes behind the winner Jessie Diggins.

Now comes the news that Andersson is withdrawing from the Tour de Ski. She will therefore not participate in tomorrow’s freestyle sprint in Davos, Switzerland.
– It’s a little too risky to just continue. It’s a bit early for me to go on a full tour, not long ago I had setbacks. Then it would be stupid of me to drive all the way, says Ebba to Sportbladet.
