As a celebrated fantasy adventure, Game of Thrones spawned its first series offshoot in 2022 and unleashed the House of the Dragon in the prequel. After the first epic teaser trailer, the second season of the Targaryen Dragon Dance doesn’t seem to be far away this year on WOW *. At the same time, the franchise is also preparing further entries that are intended to grow the universe.
According to George RR Martin, Game of Thrones will grow by 3 more series
Last year, Game of Thrones officially ordered its third live-action series, filming the fantasy experiences of a knight and a mysterious boy – A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. There have also been rumors for a long time about a prequel GoT series to Aegon the Conqueror, which should even take place before House of the Dragon. But that’s not all: As Variety reported, template author George RR Martin personally confirmed the work three new animated series.

Game of Thrones prequel to the sea serpent being planned
In his blog, the Game of Thrones writer praised Netflix’s surprise hit Blue Eye Samurai as an innovative animated discovery while also announcing his own animated series news. One series project with echoes of Pirates of the Caribbean in particular deserves attention:
We have NINE VOYAGES, our series about the legendary journeys of the sea serpent, converted from live action to animation. It is a decision that I fully support. George RR Martin explains why an animated Game of Thrones series is an exciting undertaking:
After all, half of the series takes place [der Seeschlange] on the sea and that would mean creating a new port every week: from Driftmark, to Lys, to the Basilisk Isles, to Volantis, to Qarth and so on… There’s a whole world out there. With animation we have a better chance of showing them. There are now three animated projects on the way.
The Sea Serpent, aka Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint), made his first appearance in Season 1 of House of the Dragon. At this point, the Lord of the Tides had already given up his sea adventures.
Although George RR Martin’s description sounds quite specific, it has None of the planned animated series in the Game of Thrones universe have been greenlit yet receive. So we should treat the news with caution, as the first live action spin-off Bloodmoon with Naomi Watts was ultimately canceled despite a crazy pilot.

Game of Thrones spin-off sets sail
The plot of the other two series Martin and the broadcaster HBO continue to keep it under wraps. Whether this is one of the previously speculated spin-offs (an adventure in the poor district of Flea Bottom or one with Princess Nymeria’s 10,000 ships) or something completely different cannot be said at the moment.
