It was in September that Turid, 61, from Jämtland, and her Norwegian fiance Espen, scraped home no less than 24 million kroner (100,000 kroner a month for 20 years) on Triss in TV4 Nyhetsmorgon. The couple had previously bought three Trisslots that had been lying in Turid’s bag. When Espen was going to travel home to Norway, they realized that the Trisslots were in the bag and started scratching.
– In the last lottery, we took turns scratching square by square. When I scratched out the third clover symbol, we hardly understood that it was true, Turid said earlier.
The couple announced after the scratch that they intend to use the winnings next year to go on a motorcycle holiday in Europe – indefinitely. A trip that the couple had actually planned before the win, but then decided to postpone, in order to afford a motorcycle trip.
That’s what life was like after the record win
– Life has become much better!, says Turid and continues. We live pretty much as usual, with the exception that we have had more time together. Turid had already prepared her boss before the big win that she would resign. We joked about it a bit. But the same day we scratched, he had the papers ready.
– But who believes that something like this will actually happen?, she says rhetorically.
The money, 100,000, ticks in every month. Espen retired just before the draw, the first of September. It was a pay raise.
– We can say that we have lowered our shoulders, says Tur-Turid.
Luck in both love and gambling
– We have booked a priest and we know both where and when we will get married. Also, where the honeymoon should go, says Turid.
The millionaire couple says they will ride a motorcycle in Europe on their honeymoon. It will be on our Harley Davidson touring bike of 1250 cubic meters. But for the wedding itself, the motorcycle gets a rest.
– I don’t want to ruin the dress, says Turid.
Given wedding date
When asked about the fixed wedding date, they reply that this is nailed on our lucky date. The 23rd of July.
– We met on July 23rd, got engaged on July 23rd and we scraped the win on July 23rd. Of course there will be a wedding on July 23, both say with a smile.
Since the win, Turid has been served coffee in bed. A habit the couple decided should continue in the future.
