Emeren reaches 1 GW of BESS portfolio in Italy

Renewables Confindustria focus on national supply chains

(Finance) – Emeren Groupa NYSE-listed company and one of the world’s leading developers, owners and operators of solar projects, announced the sale of two battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Italy to Matrix Renewables. This transaction follows June’s Development Service Agreement (DSA), with the company highlighting how in just six months it has reached a significant milestone, delivering approximately 1 GW under development, moving closer to its BESS portfolio target of 1.5 GW .

The projects include state-of-the-art autonomous storage systems, with a cumulative capacity of 293 MW and a discharge duration of 4-8 hours for each project. The locations of the new projects are in Puglia and Lazio, the latter inserted in a strategically significant area, not very congested but affected by important network nodes for balancing purposes. Ready-to-build status is expected to be achieved by early 2025.
