Dog owners in Norfolk County can save money by purchasing a 2024 dog license before February 1, 2024.

Under the Animal Care and Control By-Law 2014-46 all dogs must be licensed each year, otherwise owners can be issued a fine.

According to a press release, licensing encourages responsible pet ownership and can help identify lost dogs and reunite them with their family. Funds generated from licenses help supplement the cost of animal control services in the county.
Licensing fees paid by February 1, 2024, are $29.50 per paid or neutered dog, and $45.25 per intact dog.
After February 1, 2024, the fees are $37.75 per spayed or neutered dog, and $51.50 per intact dog.
A dog tag application form – available at www.norfolkcounty.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2024-Dog-Tag-Licence-Form.pdf — should be filled out and brought to any of the following locations:
– Service Norfolk at 185 Robinson St., Suite 100, Simcoe – Monday to Friday
– Service Norfolk at 183 Main Street of Delhi, Delhi – Tuesday to Thursday
– Paul Mac’s, Ruffins, or Pet Value stores in Simcoe
– A Pet’s Delight stores in Delhi or Port Dover
– Any branch of the Norfolk County Public Library
Proof of spay/neuter and rabies vaccinations are required for all new licenses.
