Ukrainian robots shot down over Russia

Authorities in Russia believe during Saturday morning that 32 Ukrainian drones have been shot down in, among other places, the Moscow area and that one person died in the border region of Belgorod.

This happened after Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine on Friday. About 150 targets across the country, from the eastern front to Lviv in the west, were hit, killing over 30 people and wounding 160, according to Ukrainian data.

Largest attack since the invasion began

During the extensive attack, among other things, a maternity clinic, residential buildings, schools and shopping centers were hit. The attack is described as the largest since the Russian offensive began.

This caused the UN Security Council to gather in an extraordinary meeting where both a number of Western countries and the UN Secretary General condemned the attack.

– Unfortunately, today’s terrible attacks were just the latest in a series of escalated attacks from Russia. Attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are contrary to international humanitarian law, are unacceptable and must stop immediately, UN Deputy Secretary-General Mohamed Khiari said during the Security Council meeting.

Vasiliy Nebenzia, Russia’s UN ambassador, believes, however, that it was the Ukrainians’ own air defense that caused death and destruction in the country.

Cost 13 billion kroner

In several Ukrainian cities, work is now in full swing to clean up after the devastating attack.

According to a calculation published in Kyiv Post the attack cost Russia 1,273,220,000 US dollars, corresponding to a little over 12.8 billion kroner.
