Chinese technology giant Xiaomi officially introduced its electric car, which it has been planning for a long time, with the SU7 model. The car’s range attracts attention with its high voltage and high efficiency battery. The battery, developed in collaboration with CATL, has a voltage of 871V and contains 800V silicon carbide. According to the information shared at the launch, the version producing 150 kWh power has a range of 1200 kilometers, and the version producing 132 kWh power has a range of 1000 kilometers.
Xiaomi SU7 comes with three different engine options
Xiaomi offers three different engine options in the SU7 model. These were announced as V6, V6S and V8. While the V6 and V6S models are currently produced, production of the V8 model is planned to start in 2025. Additionally, emphasis was placed on the 35,000 rpm speed achieved by Xiaomi’s laser winding rotor technology.
Xiaomi, which is also assertive about autonomous driving, claimed that they have surpassed Tesla and announced that they aim to provide active autonomous driving in 100 cities in China by the end of next year. With its strong entry into the electric car market, Xiaomi seems to have intensified the competition even more.
