The actor left behind a suicide note.
South Korean actress Lee Sun-kyun has been found dead, reports Yonhap news agency. Lee was 48 years old when he died.
Lee had recently been the subject of a police investigation for suspected drug use. Lee’s wife reported her husband missing after finding what appeared to be a suicide note.
South Korea has very strict drug laws.
Lee became known for, among other things, the South Korean film Parasite (2019), which won no fewer than four Oscars. It is also the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.
