21-year-old Ryu “Keria” Min-seok won the League of Legends world title in 2023 and with it the right to request his own skin for LoL. He wavered between champions Bard and Renata Glasc and let his fans on Instagram vote on which skin he should want. But then he didn’t stick to the fans’ wishes.
This is the situation:
Keria is Faker’s supporter at T1:
Time was running out and Keria asked the fans: Bard or Renata Glasc?
This is what the fans decided: Time was now running out for Christmas, Riot Games now wanted to know: Which skin did Keria’s fans choose?
There was already a bad mood among T1 fans because Faker decided against the popular heroine Ahri and in favor of Orianna at the last minute.
So Keria asked his fans on Instagram which skin they wanted: Bard or Renata Glas? The fans chose Renata Glasc.
So Keria told the developers at Riot Games on December 23rd. at 5:00 p.m. with: “Yes, I want Renata Glasc.”
Keria apologizes to Riot and the fans: choose Bard after all
That was the catch: When everything was ready, at 12:30 a.m., Keria had another change of heart and reported to Riot Games that he wanted Bard now.
He apologizes to Riot Games for the late change. But he also told the fans: That’s it. He takes Bard. Keria couldn’t change her mind a second time.
Either way, it was a wild emotional ride for LoL fans who were really hoping for a Bard or Renata Glasc skin.
As confident as T1 became world champions, they are now playing nasty games with the feelings of the LoL players.
Keria is heartbroken anyway because it didn’t work with Lux and Riot also made fun of him a bit:
