The landing near Elberta Farms was made after the plane ran into unspecified mechanical issues just before 6 pm, coming in and clipping a hydro line as it came down.

There were no injuries, according to a police spokesperson, and it isn’t known how many people were on the plane.

Sgt. Mark Whitworth said hydro crews quickly repaired the clipped line, which had reportedly affected homes in the St. George area.

Police officers and firefighters ended up pushing the small vehicle off the road and onto private property where the owner approved the plane being left for the night.

“Police spoke to the Transportation Safety Board and learned it wasn’t a reportable incident,” Whitworth said.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada requires reports on large vehicle incidents where there are injuries, engine failure, fires, collisions or fuel shortages.

Police called for the removal of the road barricades at about 7:35 pm and the road was accessible again by 8 pm
