A woman in Alabama, USA, who was born with two wombs, has delivered twins on different days.
“Our miracle babies are born,” writes Kelsey Hatcher, who documented her pregnancy on an Instagram account.
The fetuses grew in each womb, and were also born on different days. The first girl saw the light of day on Tuesday, while the sister was born just over ten hours later on Wednesday.
All three have been discharged from the hospital, and can celebrate Christmas with the rest of the family.
About 0.3 percent of the world’s women are born with two wombs, utherus didelphys. Having simultaneous pregnancies in both is extremely rare, the odds are rated at one in 50 million, with the last known being a woman in Bangladesh who gave birth to her twins 26 days apart in 2019.
