A Diablo 2 Resurrected player has now happily told how a revenge plan he worked on for 8 months came true.
This injustice was done to the player: The player KrimzontheRed was badly cheated in Diablo 2. He tells the story of his disgrace and revenge on the JSP forum (via jsp).
Krimzon was playing a multiplayer game of Diablo 2 with his level 70 Barbarian and told the chat he was new here on Hell difficulty and could use some help. He would be grateful for every tip.
Krinzon says: Until then, he had only had good experiences with the Diablo 2 community and perhaps felt too safe as a result.
His request for tips apparently brought him to the attention of a group of players who were planning evil. The player Don lured him into a teleport with the hint: “It’s safe”, but when Krimzon went through the portal, he was immediately killed by enemies that were far too strong and lost his barbarian forever.
People in the game even made fun of his death. One said he would check the JSP forum to see if Krimzon might start a thread there about his death.
Krimzon now realized that this must be a group of friends in the game who enjoyed deliberately deceiving people like him and leading them to their deaths. One of the killers, the one who joked about the forum post, even gave him a few starter items and acted as if he was just an innocent witness.
Krimzon told people his opinion, that they should improve themselves, that such behavior was pathetic, but then went on his way. But he “wrote down the players’ names and battle tags for later use.”
This happened in April 2023.
Months later, the victim meets one of his killers again
So the player took his revenge: A few months later, in September 2023, Krimzon had recovered from the disgrace and was back in Diablo 2. Here he met the player Gwyneth, whom he identified as one of the killers from back then. This was the one who asked him if he wanted to complain about his death in a forum and who gave him starting items. He also uploaded Don’s PK videos to his YouTube channel.
Krimzon writes:
“I wasn’t sure if Gwyneth was Don himself or just his accomplice. And I didn’t care.”
Krimzon set a clear goal for Season 5: revenge. Kill Gwyneth – but that had to be considered carefully. He decided to play the long game.
The victim played with one of the perpetrators for 4 months and gained his trust
For months, Krimzon sought Gwyneth’s trust, played with him, befriended him, and gave no hint whatsoever that he considered him to be one of his former killers.
The two of them planned their entry into hardcore PvP for months. During this time, Krimzon even played his new barbarian up to level 99 – his first 99er. However, the people in the group laughed at him for his idea of getting into PvP. He was told that if he had never done that before, he would probably just be killed immediately and then his character would be gone.
But Krimzon read up on Diablo 2’s PvP and after his first experiences in which he earned his first stripes as a player killer, on December 5, 2023 the time had come and he wanted to go hunting together with Gwyneth.
“I joined Gwyneth’s game saying I wanted to keep him company. […] I shiver. My heart was racing. I share my body with him – Gwyneth shared his”. I knew I had to stay calm for the first few laps. I had to remove all doubt.” […]
After 2 whirlwinds, revenge was accomplished
But finally his plan worked:
“I hesitated for a second, I almost jumped back. But then I went through with it: I turned hostile. Two steps, two whirlwinds. Gwyneth (97 Assassin) was killed by KrimzonHC.”
Krimzon says: He felt conflicted after the kill. He had cloaked a guy in a false sense of security. He now feels betrayed. He could understand that. Gwyneth invested weeks, even months in the character, which was deleted in a second. And a large part of Krimzon feels sorry for that.
But there is a valuable lesson to be learned here: “Don’t be an ass. Don’t lead innocent players down a path of revenge.”
After the fight, the player then sent him a message saying that he wasn’t at all back then, Don was just a friend. He was behind it.
But Krimzon didn’t accept that. Then he should have found better friends and not a friend who lures innocent games to their deaths. The MMORPG EVE Online is known for its major scams among good friends:
