Utah was successful against Brooklyn on a wide front. Collin Sexton and Talen Horton-Tucker scored 27 points on a man, Walker Kessler scored 14 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and the necessary support also came from the substitutes.
– Good team performance. It felt good to get a slightly clearer victory and not stay until the very last minutes, Markkanen is happy to Urheilu.
Markkanen’s match against Brooklyn was the third since the hamstring injury. Markkanen, who played less than 29 minutes, is getting better and better at the rhythm of the game.
– The leg seems to be holding up now, but it still needs to get to the feeling that it can play. Sometimes I feel like my leg gets tired after I haven’t played for a couple of weeks. But that only comes by playing, Markkanen points out.
A little fun in the final minutes
With three minutes left in the match, Markkanen arranged an extra program number when he was being substituted. Markkanen hid behind Kessler for a moment.
– I was having a bit of fun with it, although of course I knew that I was coming to be replaced. I had played 28 minutes and I would have liked to play 30 minutes, Markkanen times an amusing moment.
Utah’s playing has been too much up to Markkanen in the early season, but now there were successes on a wide front.
– After all, it is important that all the players in the team have self-confidence. We’ve been looking for our style of play a bit to get everyone involved. It is important to attack on a broad front, Markkanen emphasizes.
Utah has won three of their last four games.
– Our game has improved and is going in the right direction. I hope we can maintain this, says Markkanen.
