Jonna Sundling has missed three consecutive World Cup weekends after previously testing positive for covid-19. Now she has recovered and is in the national cross-country team’s squad for the Tour de Ski. This is announced by the Swedish Skiing Association.
For 28-year-olds Jonna Sundling It has been a tough start to the season. After being affected by covid-19 before the World Cup weekend in Gällivare, she has been off track.
But now a comeback awaits for the WC and Olympic gold medalist when the Tour de Ski starts.

19 skiers have been selected for the Swedish squad that was presented by the Swedish Skiing Association on Monday.
“We have evaluated the first World Cup period and believe that we have selected a squad that can perform both in distance races and sprints, but also fight for the overall victory in the Tour de Ski. It’s no secret that we want to stand on top of Alpe Cermis and celebrate a victory, but the road to get there is long and it requires hard work from the whole team every day,” says the national team manager Anders Byström in a press release.

On the women’s side is Frida Karlsson reigning champion and she is also in the Swedish squad.
Tour de Ski runs from December 30, 2023 to January 7, 2024.
