After the weekend’s warmer temperatures, the weather is turning again.
And for those longing for a white Christmas, it looks bright in almost the entire country.
– It is very likely that more snow has fallen far south in the country, says TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
The dream of a white Christmas lives on – almost throughout Sweden.
The warmer temperatures of the past 24 hours have been at the expense of snow cover in large parts of the country.
But in the middle of the week it changes.
“Deep Low Pressure”
– During the day on Thursday, a deep low pressure will come in that will move from Iceland down over southern Sweden, says TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
Once the winds have moved in to the east, underlying winds will reverse to a northerly, which will contribute to cooler temperatures.
– The precipitation that then falls here in the next few days before Christmas Eve could then turn into snowfall far south across the country, says Linda Eriksson.
Risk of occasional plus degrees
For the majority of the country, this means freezing temperatures. Looking at the current forecast, only certain areas in the far south are at risk of standing on the other side of zero.
– Much now depends on this low pressure, which path it takes and how fast it moves, says Linda Eriksson.
– But as it looks right now, it will be below zero in almost the entire country. And it is very likely that more snow has fallen far south.
