The top weapon, Neckbreak, has returned to the game in Destiny 2’s latest update. You can find out what the weapon can do and how you can get it here.
What can the weapon do? The automatic rifle with the telling name “Break Neck” was originally brought into the game in Season 5. It is considered to be very precise, and conveniently comes with a maximum upgrade level of 10 as a masterpiece weapon.
The two most important perks:
Halsbruch was removed from the game shortly after Season 5. Well, the weapon is making its return with the “Season of the Wish” update.

Breaking your neck will be much easier in 2023 than it used to be
How do you get a broken neck? In contrast to Season 5, obtaining the weapon is now much easier. Specifically about earning engrams. So there’s no need for a quest or hours of grinding. That was different in Season 5.
At that time, the weapon was still firmly linked to Gambit mode. Specifically, 40 Gambit matches had to be completed. In addition, 500 automatic rifle kills and 100 automatic rifle multikills are achieved and 150 challenging opponents are defeated.
Since the introduction of Gambit with the DLC expansion “Forsaken”, two teams of four players each compete against each other in separate arenas. Whichever team first collects the necessary number of particles (dropped from killed PVE enemies) to summon and defeat the final boss wins the round.
Everything you need to know about Gambit can be found on MeinMMO.
Is the weapon worth it? The fact that Break Neck deals more damage after kills and also gets faster with each kill makes the weapon a real DPS monster.
Season 23 also introduces a new, crazy weapon type.
After a lot of trial and error, the Youtuber Datto (via YouTube) came to the conclusion that neck break is particularly suitable for PVE. While the weapon quickly decimates small groups of enemies in particular, its effectiveness decreases at longer distances. In PVP, however, you shouldn’t expect any big miracles.
Have you already tested Halsbruch for Season 5? Or do you want to give the weapon a chance now?
