It was reported that Pyongyang launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) towards the Sea of Japan. In the statement made by the Japanese Ministry of Defense, it was stated that the missile, which was launched from near Pyongyang at 08.24 in the morning local time, flew for 73 minutes, and it was noted that the missile fell outside the country’s exclusive economic zone off the coast of Hokkaido island at 09.37. According to initial findings, it was announced that no damage was detected to the ships and planes sailing in the region, while it was learned that the Japanese government protested North Korea through diplomatic channels due to the latest missile test.
JAPANESE PRIME MINISTER CONDEMNED
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida condemned North Korea’s two different missile tests in the last 24 hours and emphasized that Pyongyang’s actions constitute a violation of UN Security Council resolutions and threaten regional peace and stability.
HE FLYED A THOUSAND KILOMETERS BEFORE FALLING INTO THE SEA
In the statement made by the South Korean General Staff (JCS), it was shared that the last missile launched by North Korea was fired from the Pyongyang region at a high angle and flew a thousand kilometers before falling into the sea. It was stated that the South Korean army continues detailed analysis studies in cooperation with the USA and Japan.
North Korea fired a short-range missile from the Pyongyang region at 22.38 yesterday, and it was announced that the missile fell into the Sea of Japan after traveling 570 kilometers. It was noteworthy that the development occurred after South Korean Deputy National Security Advisor Kim Tae-hyo said that North Korea could test an intercontinental ballistic missile this month.
