More and more countries are demanding an immediate ceasefire – Israel is pressing

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna was in Israel today to demand a ceasefire and the release of the hostages still in captivity, writes Tagesschau. France has also recently confirmed that one of the employees of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs was killed when a residential building was bombed in Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

– Far too many civilians are killed. We see it, we know it and we’ve been saying it for weeks now, said Catherine Colonna at a press conference today.

– I repeat that the first ceasefire made it possible to release the hostages, to deliver and distribute humanitarian aid and to evacuate the wounded, she continues.

At the same time, talks about a ceasefire have been ongoing between the parties in Oslo this weekend. On Friday, the Palestinians must have been there, and on Saturday, a delegation from Israel arrived together with representatives from Qatar, who mediated the previous ceasefire. However, it has not yielded any results yet.

Trucks are looted

Gaza is without power for the fourth day in a row, making it difficult for aid organizations to coordinate supplies that are at risk of looting.

Pictures show how chaos breaks out among people when trucks with water bottles arrived via the Rafah border crossing to Egypt on Sunday.

Giant tunnel found

The Israeli military today showed off the largest Hamas tunnel found so far, writes the AFP news agency.

The tunnel is part of a network that stretches over four kilometers and is wide enough for vehicles. It contains, among other things, sewage systems, electricity, ventilation, drains and rails and is also located 400 meters from the Eres border crossing, which is the largest crossing between Israel and Gaza.
