The players in Diablo 4 are currently sinking their teeth into the new endgame content: Zir’s slaughterhouse is sometimes so difficult that Blizzard even had to nerf the fight shortly after release. A player grinded for it for a week and managed it with, of all things, the wrong pants.
What is the latest endgame content? Since December 5th, players have been able to compete in the new endgame content Zirs Schlachthaus (originally The Abattoir of Zir). Similar to the Greater Rifts from Diablo 3, you have 10 minutes to kill as many enemies as possible. There are 25 difficulty levels in total.
If you catch enough enemies in the required time on your difficulty level, a unique glyph will drop. This gives you a significant damage boost and you can even upgrade it up to level 200.
Why did Blizzard have to nerf Slaughterhouse? Zir’s Slaughterhouse was so difficult when it was released that players struggled with the currently available builds. Since Blizzard doesn’t want to have impossible content in the game, they nerfed the slaughterhouse.

Diablo 4: New endgame content was so difficult that the developers changed it just a few days later
by Nicole Wakulczyk
The players have now successfully completed the content at the highest level. And this despite the fact that an expert said that no one should create the new dungeon.
After a week of grinding, a player can complete the hardest content – but with the wrong pants
What exactly was the player doing? Xingluoah spent a week preparing for the endgame content at level 25. He even leveled the damage glyph from Zir’s Slaughterhouse to level 140 in order to cause as much damage as possible.
For the final run, Xingluoah Zir’s slaughterhouse restarted again and again until the right combination of dungeon layout and monsters invited. His character competed as a barbarian with one of the strongest builds currently possible.
But that wasn’t enough for him to create the content safely: There is currently a bug in Diablo 4 that allows you to use stronger buffs on lower items by swapping your legendary items multiple times. This gave Xingluoah a 100% boost to his two-handed weapon. But this is exactly where the player made the mistake: he put the wrong, worse pants back on his character after the swap.
What exactly happened? Youtuber Rob2628 comments on the fight in a video. In it he explains that barbarians usually wear pants with an all-important defensive aspect or a unique item with a strong damage boost. In exchange, Xingluoah dressed his character in pants that had neither advantage. So he was missing essential boosts.
Nevertheless, Xingluoah managed to make it through the dungeon – but according to Rob2628, it was out of pure luck. There were simply a lot of factors at play here and the situation wasn’t that easy to recreate in your own game.
The Diablo 4 YouTuber and streamer Wudijo also spoke up about the run: Unfortunately, there is no hope for the other classes here. I think barbarians will remain the only class that can do something like this.
Have you already reached Zir’s slaughterhouse to level 25? Or are you still grinding glyphs yourself? Please let us know your progress in the comments.
