The arrest of MP Dominique Yandocka sparks a wave of indignation from the Central African opposition. Former Prime Minister Anicet George Dologuélé speaks for example of “state terrorism”.
The BRDC, a platform which brings together the main opponents, condemns what it describes as the “totalitarian drift” of President Faustin Archange Touadera. “ We cannot go like that to a national deputy with armed men and have him removed from his home. This is not possible at all. I strongly condemn this arbitrary arrest said Armel Bodingar, president of the opposition youth movement.
Opposition MP Bernard Dillah went with several of his colleagues to the SRI to visit Dominique Yandoka. “ I rigorously and energetically condemn the act that was committed. Our colleague must be released unconditionally. If he has committed acts that go against the law, the security of the State or anyone, the procedure in this matter must be respected “, according to him.
The reasons for this arrest are not yet known. Neither the government, nor the National Assembly or the Bangui public prosecutor’s office have yet reacted.
