KI has investigated price increases in Sweden, Norway, Germany, Spain, Denmark, France and Finland by comparing an average for the whole year 2019 with the prices in October this year.
A Swedish consumption basket, adjusted for energy prices, became 19 percent more expensive during the time period. The figure can be compared with the price trend in Norway, which is in second place with 17.8 percent, Denmark in fifth place with 13.9 percent and Finland in seventh place with 13.3 percent, the newspaper writes.
30 percent more expensive with food
Food prices in Sweden have risen by 30 percent during the period. The price increase is the highest in the Nordics, but in line with the euro countries’ average. KI has not been able to calculate how much the krona’s loss against other currencies such as the euro and the dollar has contributed to the price development in Sweden, writes Di.
