SMHI has issued a yellow warning for sudden ice slippage in an area that stretches from western Svealand to southernmost Norrbotten.
It is a low pressure with milder air moving in over the country from the west during the night to Saturday.
– In connection with that, we get both freezing rain and rain that can fall on cold roads, says Emma Rosengren, meteorologist at SMHI.
Slippage can mean that traffic moves more slowly than usual and that accessibility on the roads is limited due to traffic accidents, according to SMHI. In addition, there is a risk of delays and canceled departures in bus and air traffic.
– It can change very quickly and this type of slippage is not always visible on the road, says Emma Rosengren.
The warnings come into effect during the night and are valid until Saturday evening at the latest.
