What a Swedish success!
Linn Svahn was second and Emma Ribom third in the sprint in Trondheim.
This after great drama in the final sprint.
The two opening sprints of this year’s World Cup season have been won by Emma Rib. Expectations were therefore high for Swedish in a big way. But also in Norwegian Kristine Stavå’s Ski City who competed at home.
Svahn the best
The day started very well for Sweden. Lynn Svahn was fastest of all in the qualifier on the women’s side, and Edwin Anger came fourth among the men. In addition, all Swedes on both the women’s and men’s sides advanced from the qualifiers.

In the quarter-finals, however, the Swedish skaters began to drop off. Moa Ilar and Johanna Hagström on the women’s side, and everyone except Edvin Anger and Johan Häggström on Mr. went out. In the semi-finals got Maja Dahlqvist and Frida Karlsson give thanks.
Two podium places!
On the men’s side, unfortunately, there was no Swede in the final, as Anger and Häggström went out in the semi-finals.
But there were two Swedish podium places on the women’s side to our great joy! Linn Svahn, who had a fantastic sprint day, was second, and Emma Ribom third, after great drama on the run.
It is Svahn’s first podium in the World Cup since January 2021, after the star had a lot of injury problems in recent seasons.

And it was Kristine Stavå’s Skistad that won the sprint. The victory was her first of the season, after coming third in the sprint in Ruka and second in the sprint in Östersund.
On the men’s side, it was the super sprinter Johannes Hösflot Kläbo who took a clear victory, again…
