A man in his 60s has died after Thursday’s serious crane accident at Northvolt in Skellefteå, relatives confirm to Folkbladet.
The man, who was employed by a construction company with assignments in the area, died when a fork stand fell on the man and one of his colleagues. The colleague was seriously injured.
A preliminary investigation is led by a prosecutor at the national unit for environmental and work environment cases. According to Northvolt, a crisis support has also been activated.
The accident is the second in a short time at Northvolt’s facility. At the beginning of November, a 25-year-old man was seriously injured in an explosion.
