Upgrade your workbench – This is how you improve it to rare and epic

The workbench in LEGO Fortnite can be upgraded three times, from uncommon to rare to epic. We’ll tell you how to do this and what you need in the guide.

How do I upgrade my workbench? Aside from the standard workbench model, there are 3 other upgrades – Uncommon, Rare and Epic. To upgrade the workbench to uncommon level, you need 8 planks and 3 tanks.

You get the planks when you process wood in your sawmill. You get tanks by killing the ball-like, rolling enemies you find in the open world called “scooters”.

This is how you upgrade your workbench to “rare”: To unlock the next level of the workbench, you now need 4 materials. You can get these in caves on the one hand, and in Dürretal on the other – a desert region in LEGO Fortnite. You can recognize them by the brown areas on your map.

  • 12 Gnarl Root Stick (processing of Gnarl Roots in the Sawmill)
  • 15 marble tablets (processing marble in the stone crusher)
  • 6 Sand Claw (you get it from the wolves in Drought Valley)
  • 3 sand tanks (you get them from the “rollers” in Dürretal)
  • This is how you upgrade your workbench to “epic”: For the third and epic upgrade of your workbench you need 3 materials that require more effort. To do this you have to upgrade your tools to “rare” and go into lava caves.

  • 15 Copper Ingots (Processing Copper and Brightcore from Lava Caves in the Metal Smelting Furnace)
  • 25 obsidian tablets (processing obsidian from lava caves in the stone crusher)
  • 1 monster scale (you get it from the golem in the grassland when you kill him, for example)
  • Why should I upgrade my workbench? It makes sense to upgrade the workbench in LEGO Fortnite as this is the only way you can get better equipment. For some materials in the world you need tools that require a higher level. In addition, the better tools are, the less likely they are to break.

But be careful: if you build several workbenches in the world, in order to be able to build tools and weapons on the go, you have to upgrade them all individually. Upgrading your first workbench does not apply to additional workbenches.

In LEGO Fortnite it’s sometimes annoying when you’re about to build or farm materials and it’s nighttime. You can’t skip them by sleeping – but you can use another little trick:
