A pre-school in Gothenburg was abruptly closed on Thursday after a decision on a protective shutdown, reports Dagens Nyheter.

– It is about a parental drive with clear threats to the staff.

That’s what Andrea Meiling, chairman of the Swedish Teachers’ Union in West Sweden, told the newspaper.

In a message to the guardians, the preschool’s principal wrote that the protective stop is due to the employees experiencing the work environment as unsafe and that the preschool is investigating whether they have been exposed to unauthorized influence.

Meiling says that the drive from the parents has been going on for some time, but has recently turned into direct threats against the staff.

– There are threats that they will attack teachers if something happens to their children, it is completely absurd, says Meiling and adds that security guards have been called in to protect the staff.

A JO notification has also recently been received against the preschool. The complainant states, among other things, that the preschool fails in its supervisory responsibility and that reports of violations are incomplete and incorrect.
