Important messages can be pinned in the future, and voice messages can be deleted automatically.
The WhatsApp messaging application has received new features during December.
On December 12, the application introduced pinned messages, which allow important messages to be pinned to the top of the message thread.
In the past, messages could be saved with the starred messages feature. The difference between the new feature and that is that the pinned message is visible all the time, while starred messages have to be opened separately from the application’s settings.
Messages can be pinned both in one-on-one conversations and in groups. A pinned message is visible to all participants in the message thread.
The message can be fixed for one, seven or thirty days.
The feature will be available with the latest app update.
“Self-destruct feature” for voice messages
Earlier in December, Whatsapp also introduced voice messages that disappear after the recipient has listened to them. A similar feature has long been used in images as well.
Whatsapp says in his blogthat outgoing voice messages can be used, for example, to share credit card information or plan a surprise so that outsiders cannot accidentally access the messages.
