“Approved climate agreement – thanks to Pourmokthari”

Approved climate agreement thanks to Pourmokthari

During the morning, the new climate agreement was finalized at COP28 in Dubai.

On X, the Liberals write that it must have been approved thanks to our “incredible climate and environment minister”.

“Excuse me?”, writes Annika Strandhäll (S) in a comment.

The post was published during the morning on Liberalernas X, formerly Twitter, after the new climate agreement was concluded between 198 countries and more than 70,000 delegates at COP28 in Dubai.

“Thanks to our incredible climate and environment minister Romina Pourmokhtari, a historic climate agreement has been approved! There is no one like Romina!”, writes the Liberals.

“We are very proud of Romina”

When Aftonbladet contacts the person responsible for the Liberals’ account, it is stated that they wanted to highlight Pourmokhtari’s contribution.

What did you mean by the tweet?
– The EU has stood strong and united in the negotiations and we have achieved great success with our positions. We are very proud of our minister and wanted to highlight her hard and important work during the negotiations. Both when it comes to her individual meetings but also in large groups.

But you write “thanks” to her, and an agreement has been approved. So it sounds like Romina played an absolutely decisive role in the creation of the agreement? But isn’t that the case?

– We refer to the climate minister’s press contact for further details about the negotiations.

L: “Check her insta story”

When Aftonbladet asks the Liberals’ press service about her “decisive role”, Pourmokthari’s press secretary states that she “represented Sweden in the negotiations”.

On the occasion of this tweet, we would like to know more about what crucial role Romina played?

– Romina has represented Sweden in the negotiations, writes press secretary Niki Westerberg in a text message.

– If you want to see how her day has been, you can check out her Instastory.
