Joe Biden issued a grim warning in the presence of Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday, saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin was “counting” on US aid to Ukraine stopping. “We must, we must prove him wrong,” insisted the American president during a joint press conference in Washington with his Ukrainian counterpart. Carsten L., 53, an agent of the German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) and his alleged accomplice, Arthur E., a 32-year-old independent contractor, are suspected of “high treason in two particularly serious cases”. They will be tried for “high treason” from Wednesday before the Berlin court and risk life imprisonment.

The new Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Tuesday called on the West to maintain its support for Ukraine and delivered a pro-European plea during his general policy speech, after which his government obtained the confidence of Parliament. In his speech to MPs, the 66-year-old leader called on the world for “total mobilization” in favor of Ukraine in the face of the Russian offensive and assured of working “effectively in favor of kyiv”.

The former head of the European Council (2014-2019) also expressed his hope of meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the European summit this Wednesday.

315,000 Russian soldiers injured or killed since the start of the Russian invasion

This estimate appears in a declassified document transmitted to Congress on the occasion of the visit to Washington by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, intended to convince American parliamentarians to approve new military aid to kyiv. According to the same document, which several American media reported, Russia lost 2,200 armored vehicles out of the 3,500 it had before the start of the war on February 24, 2022. Russia has never indicated how many men it had engaged in Ukraine since February 2022, nor really communicated on its losses, ensuring that Western estimates on this subject were largely exaggerated.
