Sharpened tone on fossil fuel – no phasing out

The world must move away from fossil fuels, according to a new draft agreement at the climate conference COP28.

However, there is a lack of a direct call for the phasing out of oil, coal and natural gas – a sharper wording that many countries had hoped for.

Sweden voted for a ceasefire in Gaza

The UN General Assembly has overwhelmingly voted in favor of a non-binding resolution on an immediate ceasefire in the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.

Sweden is one of the countries that voted yes to the resolution, which does not mention Hamas.
